Bowl-a-thon 2010: Get ready to bowl on
Saturday, October 2nd! This is a great family
participation event, which happens also to be one of our
major fundraisers. So watch for more information to be
posted soon!

Study
Smarts: A program called Study Smarts has partnered with
many ACSI schools over the last 12 years with an
innovative and effective study skills solution. This
year we will take advantage of this valuable
program for 5th-12th grade students in mid September
(MS- Sept 13-17, HS- 20-24). We
have already purchased the training DVD’s. Each student
will be asked to purchase his/her own $10 workbook,
which can be paid upfront or added to your school bill.
RCCS
Calendars! The PTF has
put together a wall calendar featuring RCCS students and
staff which are available at either campus. These calendars, with RCCS events,
birthdays, and much more are a bargain at just $5 each!
Share a
Book: The 6th grade
Literature class will be reading several books this
year. If you have a copy (or more) of one of these books
that you can either donate or lend the class please send
it to the school: My Side of the Mountain (George);
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (Lewis); The Hobbit
(Tolkein); Bridge to Terabithia (Paterson); Number the
Stars (Lowry); The Boy in Striped Pajamas (Boyne).
Parade!
Last year RCCS won the “People’s
Choice” trophy at the Labor Day Parade in Janesville.
Well, it’s time to try to repeat! Come and join the fun
on Labor Day, September 6th. Our position is near the
corner of West Court Street and South High Street in
Janesville. Please arrive before 1pm and wear RCCS
colors (red & white)!
Do you
need a little extra help with your children?
RCCS has child care at the
elementary campus for school age children as well as
preschoolers. Both before and after school times are
available. All students 13 and under are welcome. Call
the elementary campus at 757-1000 for details.
Potluck,
Prayer & Play: Set
aside Saturday, September 18th for a family potluck at
the Janesville campus from 3:30-5:30pm. We will have a
time of prayer as well as some fun activities for all
ages.

2 BLESS... the World! Save your average size
shoe boxes! Buy extra school supplies! See a small toy
on sale? Buy it! Pick up extra bars of soap and tooth
brushes! This year RCCS will be packing shoeboxes to be
sent through Operation Christmas Child. The boxes will
be packed in mid November so start collecting! How many
boxes can RCCS fill? BC/JC challenge?
More Information!
Ice
Cream Buckets! Mark your calendars for the
2nd Annual RCCS Apple Pie Day on November 12. Since the
pies were such a hit last year, we are going to make
more this year and we need your help to get the job
done. We also need to have you start saving ice cream
pails for us. You can drop the ice cream pails off at
RCCS anytime.
